National and global identity of the USA

American Medias, in the verge of presidential elections, more or less in academic level were debating the idea of which election would be better for the head of American state. Anyhow, they were agreeing that it should be an option, which is happening for the first time and that will be a strong message for the American society itself and especially for the world. American elite, notably the intellectuals had caught the idea of changes but political and military elite and especially businesspersons were still having dilemmas. Their dilemmas were reflected through mass Medias accepting the need for changes that very often were coming with efforts for cosmetic changes. These were a bit wired especially for non-Americans, considering that it was regarding the personality, who non-stop would be on the top of the global medias. The journalists were proposing and supporting one of the most talked about options amongst the electoral and which was associated to the unacknowledged, marginalized and even oppressed subcultures. They were predicting a lady, a homoseksual or a coloured president for their country, and this would be the innovation. This message from the proponents of this opinion was that all these optiones were possible in a liberal and democratic society which promotes equal rights and is free of prejudice.                      
A prognosis of American Intelligence Agency (CIA) that was published recently, have predicted that until the end of the half of this century, white people are not going to be the majority of the USA anymore. They were disclosing this way many issues connecting with bases of the American society - the white America as common identity and culture problems that was a model for all other nations.        
At the same time, the global environment was essentially changing. The modern society is already articulated and accepted from the most famous contemporary intellectuals. It is moving through unforgotten paths and it is admitted that many poles of knowledge and traditional beliefs have moved. However, the main challenges remain unanswerable. It is not theatricals anymore when you say, “Where is the humanity going?” and not even as a human being but also as a biological being. Humanity projects constructions in universe and civilizations in other planets to overcome the overpopulation. Humanity projects lasting life beyond known boundaries. Humanity builds giant accelerators to understand the essence of universe…man…    
A personal approach from Prishtina
The USA and the Presidents Clinton and Bush were here with us when we needed them the most. At that time, a neighbor country was trying not simply to impose its values and norms to other nations around but also to eliminate all those who did not accept their cultural, political and religious identity as their own. As the years are passing, even if our sense sometimes speaks differently, we always will have a special approach for the USA and American society in general. Beneath these emotions I was watching, as millions of people everywhere round the world were, the new President of the USA, Barac Obama. After his vow on bible for being faithful toward the constitution and his country, he was walking together with his wife and children straight to the White House, the President’s residency that will be his house for the next four years. Greeting people in both sides with restrained moves of his hand and opened face, he was sending peace and love messages to the multicolored people of his capital city who were cheering and acclaiming happily. These views awaked me a vision – a kosovar from a mixed family (Albanian and Serb) who would walk down the center of Prishtina, passing through the Scanderbeg square straight to the Presidency. Probably, similarly in an unbelievable way would be over lived an Albanian who would walk straight to the presidential residency of Skopje, Podgorica or Belgrade where Albanians are minority. Would it be possible to give the same message and would this be accepted in the same way in Balkan or even in world?        
Why is this out of the question now?
It has already been proved that there is no nation that would give up from its own identity willingly. It does not come to consideration for a nation to hug, with its free will, a new identity of another nation, especially if in the past have fought with it or has been opprobrious and depressed from it. The history knows many cases of violent assimilation or extirpation of nations but not even one case of a nation that willingly has abandoned its identity. (Here are not included conversions of small groups for different reasons that occur also at our community).
Many efforts, already a part of the new history, were initiated by ex-communist countries with new identity and integrated pretensions as Soviet nation, Yugoslav nation and many other creatures through which they pretended to exceed the ethnic, religious (atheism were promoted as a new religion), racism and cultural differences. In fact, the traditional culture was proclaimed as outdated and it had been thrown away. However, against the powerful propaganda machinery of communism, these “nations” failed even during these federal creatures existence.
Practically the Yugoslav and Soviet were born as nations more or less similar to principles that the American nation was risen and consolidated. Nevertheless, there was an essential difference between American nation and so-called Yugoslav and Soviet nations. American citizens, (similarly as Canadians, Australians etc.) were denizen people who settled America and created new roots placing their original roots, which through years remained only a part of family culture and tradition that did not interfere the society functioning. Meanwhile this experiment tested to nations that were living in their land and who were keeping their culture, resulted to be difficult because they refused to change their nation and religious identity and never accepted enforced authorities and rules. The fall of great communism caused this violent effort for integration to be forgotten as a model we should never follow. Actually, from different nations and cultures, the new world order that had been launched from the white and Christian West and followed by powerful financial and military machinery, was experienced more or less similarly to Soviet model, so as an enforceable model that caused denials and confrontations.
Why the triumph of Obama was appraised as a renewal of American ideal?
The USA was, and probably will remain the country of big opportunities where people from all over the world can go and start a new life full of hope and chances. It is an example of a country where after great fluxes of indigent people from different cultures and nations of Europe was created a new nation - American nation. Regardless of where you were from since the beginning, you were American. This was a way of welcome into the new identity, which used to be accepted automatically from people since they met the powerful state machinery. The “national conversion” used to happen straightway and used to be considered by denizen people as a great arrival for them and their families. This new identity used to give them equal rights guaranteed by constitution that enabled people to be successful in any profession or society status, of course depending on their efforts and abilities. In this sense, you could dream or aimed to be a president naturally, if you were not black or woman.
In effect, American model had some handicaps but because of great economic successes and excellent functioning of integration of citizens from all over the world into a society, culture and unique nation tolerant toward any ideas these defects were not seemed.
The American nation that became a model for other nations especially in the 20th century for its democracy, economy and its mixed culture with European and African roots but opened for any other influences, after all were dominated by white and Christian people. Not so far from now, a visionary black American said a great sentence that now you can find in any school books all over the world. He said a simple sentence understandable even for children but not acceptable for everyone, especially for American society. He said “I have a dream” and when he almost touched it, a hidden hand, conspiracy made it remain just a dream until now. Against many comments from Medias and agitated opinion who were trying to project the old American philosophy of success and individual competition, his dream was not individual, was not just political or ideological but it was a different vision for the USA and for the world. Many people, under the white Medias press, understood his engagement in a wrong way. Influenced by propaganda they thought that he was engaging for a separate American dream, for a black America and for his personal success. Actually, his dream was looking beyond what ignorant people were seeing. He was engaging for a multicolored America, where the American nation would be a communion of equal people, where nations and races of the world would exceed their national and racial identity, to become a single alternative and leader of the new global identity. The new world order with ideal of Martin Luther King was gaining the base of the idea that would be spread all over the globe.
Is the President Obama’s idea and vision the base on which will be risen the global “nation” that will demand also executive global institutions, as an essential demand of world market that only in the actual economic crisis show how integrated and inter-depended is? White America, heavy industrial, oil and weaponry’s America that dominated the globe during the second half of the last century, closed that period with an extraordinary extension of soldiers and military machinery in the world, getting this way into a less headed war with other cultured, races and religious nations.              
The necessity for changes was felt in the air
The USA had to do profound changes in order to remain a model for all other nations, races and cultures. It became visible not only for Medias but also for American public opinion and they, even the most marginalized classes, started to project their ideas. Everybody have known that the next president of the USA is not going to be only someone else (it was understood the Mr. Bush was leaving the White House because of constitution’s limitation), or another party but also that is going to be “something” different, something that will happen for the first time in the USA history. People were calculating American dilemmas; is there going to be President a woman, a gay or? …whatever it is just to be for the first time.
Actually, the American Medias and public opinion in general since the selection of democrat candidate were oriented for a new President that would legitimate the multiracial America. Powerful communities as African-Americans, Hispanic, Chinese and Asiatic in general had started to create compacted sub-societies inside of American society and it was hard for the country’s administration to operate there. After 11 September, the mistrust between white Americans and African-Americans and other people of Islamic countries origin was raised. Against the economic, military and urban culture power and its democracy, the USA had started to show its limitations on intentions to be a leader of the new world order. The most of nations with important economic, military and political potential had already fulfilled their national identity creating nearly 200 countries. Taking into consideration that the better parts of these countries now were not a part of developed white or Christian world, imitation of the Christian American model and culture started to destroy the American myth for a functional and developed society congruent between people of different origins. While people more or less had given up from their ethnic origin, the racial and religious differences were taking a new dimension in the USA oneself. The American domination of world was not accepted naturally anymore because it started to be understood as a domination of white and Christian people at the time when in the modern world they are already a perceptible minority.                         
Obama, the man in the center of the new American brand
Barac Obama with his background and presentation has been judged as a brilliant person and visionary politician. Born by parents of different races and religions, Muslim African - American father and white Christian mother, he appeared in the time when American society were screaming for changes. Something that for someone else would be a handicap for him became an advantage. He persuasively won opposite his white opponent, a war hero and with a bright biography as well.
If you remember, the circumstances before few decades you probably will think how hard would be for Obama to propound his candidature for president. Actually, after all his oratory and brilliant biography in such condition it would be impossible to do so. Meanwhile these days we learnt from Medias that there happened also another selection, a very important position, traditionally conservative. The Republican Party of the USA selected for its leader a colored person.  
The CIA prognosis has resulted precise in most of the cases. Changes in ethnic, racial, cultural and much dimensional structure in the USA in fact are reflecting the proportion between global civilizations. New economic and politic powers are imposing the proportion and the new report between nations and cultures. Each alteration without a model or vision risks to bring anarchy and confrontations. While the anarchy within a society, disregard how high it is, could be controlled, the anarchy in global dimension means a global confrontation. Nor horror movies scenarists could imagine what would happen to the world with many states that have nuclear weapons and many people who think that plastic keys open the paradise gates. Global institutions are in front of imperative reform and the consolidation of their executive ingerence seems to be necessary, taking into consideration the recent global consequences of economic crises that knocked out some of the most powerful banks and companies of the world.
Barac Obama seems to be completely aware about challenges not only of American society but of global society too. His first public claims contain conciliation and approaching messages with the most recent enemies. These days he hold out the friendship hand to all other nations and states, cultures, religions and civilizations, even to those who instead of their friendship hand were ready to confront.
The American President cannot be judged for racism or intolerance towards other cultures anymore. Anybody in the globe when looks his photos drinking cola or Pepsi will not see him as a threat or cultural imperialism but simply as a person who is drinking a fresh lovely drink.
